Advocacy Supports

Director of Equity and Community Supports

Karen Mutyabule, Director of Equity and Community Supports, provides support and consultation on issues concerning equity, diversity, accessibility, inclusion, discrimination and harassment.

Ombudsperson

The Ombudsperson Office is available to all students for free, confidential, impartial and independent support to help resolve any university-related concerns.

Dalhousie Student Advocacy Service

DSAS volunteers receive training in anti-oppressive practices, advocacy skills, confidentiality and many university policies. Whether you have been accused of an academic offence, or if you are dealing with harassment or discrimination, reach out for support.

Learning Supports

Foundation Year Program Writing Coach

Molly Rookwood works with first-year students to take what they already know about writing essays and evolve that knowledge to a university level.

Associate Director of Student Support - FYP

Tim Clarke is available to support Foundation Year Program students with academic accommodations, assignment extensions, academic advising and referrals to non-academic & academic supports.

Bissett Student Success Centre

The centre will support your academic planning and more—they can help you reach your educational, career and life goals.

Study Skills and Tutoring

The centre will help you with learning to learn and also offers workshops and coaching to help you achieve your academic potential.

Writing Centre

Coaches will support students at any stage of their assignments. The centre also offers workshops and seminars on improving your writing process.
